Interactive event “Nature as our common treasure”

On 25 September 2019, the Latvia – Russia, South-East Finland – Russia, Estonia – Russia cross-border cooperation programmes and Interreg Baltic Sea Region programme, implementing in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region are holding the interactive event “Nature as our common treasure” targeting young people of the regions, who focus on environmental studies.

At the event, the school graduates and first-year students of the Leningrad Region and St. Petersburg will get acquainted with the projects implemented within the CBC and Interreg programmes, and become active discussants on possible project synergies to meet common environmental challenges and to contribute to the wellbeing of the regions. The proposals made by the future influencers may be of interest for the EU-Russia cooperation in 2021–2027.

12 projects representing the 3 CBC programmes and 1 Interreg programme will cooperate with youngsters and explain the role and significance of the projects for the development of the border regions. The representative of projects will introduce their work to the stakeholders and decision-makers.

The stakeholders to participate in the interactive event include national authorities of the Russian Federation, regional authorities of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region,  representatives of the Member States, programme managing authorities, Consulates and the representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to Russia.
