Considering this, RED URBANSOL aims to create or rehabilitate between 80,000 and 90,000 m2 of open spaces in urban and interurban areas.
As a consequence, it will reduce atmospheric ozone concentration in the Euroace Euroregion by 18%.
School children among 12-8 years will learn what sustainable and electric mobility is as well as the importance of road safety. Also, they will be able to try the children’s circuit of electric go-karts in the city center of Badajoz, Spain.
The RED URBANSOL project is one of the Interreg Spain-Portugal (POCTEP) 2014-2020. Indeed, it´s one of the several POCTEP projects that work on sustainable, low carbon and electric mobility.
The objective of the project is to foster the sustainable development of municipalities along the entire Spanish-Portuguese border strip.
For this purpose, it creates Action Plans for Sustainable and Intelligent Interurban Development.
Also, the project creates cross-border infrastructure and investments.
In other words, the project works to promote efficiency, energy self-sufficiency and low carbon economy.
